JEFFREY GRICE was born in Christchurch, New Zealand where he began piano studies at an early age. He gave his first public concert at the age of 16 as a result of numerous competition successes. Very interested in literature, he majored in both languages and music at Auckland University. A French Government bursary enabled him to further his studies in Paris with Yvonne Loriod and Germaine Mounier, culminating in a performance diploma from the Ecole Normale Superieure de Musique de Paris...
In 1999, the French Ministry of Culture decorated him with the title Officier des Arts et des Lettres for distinguished service in the field of music.
